Historically the home of a wealthy local businessman, Castel Froma is still a family home today – only now it accommodates a family of fifty-seven residents.

Castel Froma is a unique place of care; our independent charity status means that we are free to offer a range of facilities and services that take our care above and beyond the expected. As well as the assurance of 24-hour nursing care, our residents have access to a wide range of additional services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy. Where medically possible, our residents can also take advantage of our hydrotherapy pool to help them exercise and increase mobility.

There’s even the option of aromatherapy, reflexology and acupuncture to help residents relax, de-stress, and escape some of the day-to-day discomfort that unfortunately comes with many conditions.

However Castel Froma is about more than just care – it’s about living. Like any other home, ours is always full of activity – friends and family dropping by, people learning new skills, others practicing old ones, cooking, live music, video games, and those who simply want to snatch a spare moment for themselves.

Pushing back boundaries

Castel Froma, an independent charity, exists to meet the needs of people with complex neurological disabilities that result from damage to the brain through trauma or through the progressive effects of degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis.

Naturally, such challenges demand a duty of care. However at Castel Froma we aim to deliver so much more. As a home, we strive to provide a level of care that enables our residents to live their life as comfortably as possible. As a centre of excellence, we aim to push back the boundaries of every resident’s condition to help them get more out of life. And, as a financially sound organisation, we are determined to preserve our charity and our services for the future needs and security of generations to come.

Although many people talk about the quality of life – we pride ourselves in being able to deliver it. From our care staff to our housekeepers, from laundry and maintenance staff to our volunteers, everyone is dedicated to providing the highest level of care. Rest assured, we’ll never stop pushing those boundaries.
